  • Satisfaction Guarantee: Access America will provide a refund of your insurance premium if you cancel your insurance within 10 days of purchase and have not filed a claim or departed on your trip.
  • Effective date: Insurance is effective at 12:01 AM on the date the scheduled trip begins. Trip Cancellation coverage, if purchased, begins the day after your web order is received and accepted. Coverage will not be effective until all premiums that are due are received prior to the scheduled departure date or prior to the Trip Cancellation date if you cancel your trip or it is cancelled for any reason.
  • Termination date: Coverage ends at midnight on the date of return selected, or upon return to your city of residence or when the trip is cancelled, whichever is earliest. If return is delayed for any covered reason, coverage is extended until you are able to return to your city of residence. The day you depart and the day you return are counted and included as separate days when determining duration of coverage.
  • Access America defines an existing medical condition as an illness or injury that you, a traveling companion or family member were seeking or receiving treatment for or had symptoms of on the day you purchased your plan, or at any time in the 120 days before you purchased it. Coverage for an existing medical condition is excluded unless:
    1. you purchased your plan within 14 days of making your first trip payment or first trip deposit
    2. you purchased trip cancellation coverage that covers the full cost of all your non-refundable trip arrangements
    3. you were a U.S. resident and medically able to travel on the day you purchased the plan, and
    4. the total cost of your trip is $10,000 or less
  • All other contract terms and conditions apply.
  • Supplier Default Coverage is provided when:
    1. You purchase your insurance within 14 days of initial trip payment or deposit;
    2. Financial default occurs more than seven days after the policy’s effective date; and
    3. You use a travel supplier (other than the organization from which you purchased this insurance or their affiliate companies) listed as a covered supplier at the time of insurance purchase.

  • Initial Trip Deposit date is defined as the date upon which trip dates, rates and itinerary are confirmed and a full deposit is made. A “Good Faith” deposit will not be considered an Initial Trip Deposit if: 1. the good faith deposit is less than $300.00; and 2. trip dates are not determined at the time of the good faith deposit.
  • All insureds must purchase the same plan.

    General Program Exclusions

    You aren’t covered for any loss that results directly or indirectly from any of the following general exclusions, unless they’re specifically covered by your plan:

    • existing medical conditions (unless you have existing medical condition coverage)
    • intentional self-harm or attempting or committing suicide (only applies to you)
    • pregnancy, unless there are unforeseen complications or problems with the pregnancy
    • fertility treatments, childbirth or elective abortion
    • a mental or nervous health disorder (like anxiety, depression, neurosis, psychosis and others), or any related physical complications (physical complication means any physical symptom)
    • the use or abuse of alcohol or drugs, or any related physical complications (physical complication means any physical symptom)

    The following activities if you, a traveling companion or a family member participates in them, whether the family member is traveling with you or not:

    • flying or learning to fly an aircraft as a pilot or crew member
    • participating in or training for any professional or amateur sporting competition
    • participating in extreme, high-risk sports like:
      1. skydiving, hang gliding or parachuting
      2. bungee jumping
      3. caving
      4. extreme skiing, heli-skiing or skiing outside marked trails
      5. body contact sports (meaning any sport where the objective is to physically render an opponent unable to continue with the competition such as boxing and full contact karate)
      6. mountain climbing or any other high altitude activities
      7. scuba diving below 120 feet (40 meters) or without a dive master

    The following events:

    • any problem or event that could have reasonably been foreseen or expected when you purchased your plan
    • an epidemic or pandemic
    • natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, fires and floods
    • air, water or other pollution, or the threat of a pollutant release
    • nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination
    • war (declared or undeclared), acts of war, military duty, civil disorder or unrest
    • terrorist events
    • financial default
    • unlawful acts

    You aren’t eligible for reimbursement under any coverage if:

    • your common carrier tickets don’t show departure and return dates
    • the departure and return dates on your enrollment form don’t represent when you actually intended to travel
